a little lullaby

Logospilgrim embrace
Master, bless.

My most precious ones,

last Christmas I had wished to sing you a song, but I did not get around to it...

Now that I have figured out this voice post thing, well... I wanted to give you a small gift. It is as good as I could make it sound, because I have difficulty singing this song without crying ;-) After attempting to do so quite a few times, I managed to croon something that is not too out of tune. The first line is not so smooth, but the rest is acceptable.

“Baby mine, don't you cry
Baby mine, dry your eyes
Rest your head close to my heart
Never to part, baby of mine
Little one, when you play
Don't you mind what they say
Let those eyes sparkle and shine
Never a tear, baby of mine
If they knew sweet little you
They'd end up loving you too
All those same people who scold you
What they'd give just for the right to hold you
From your head to your toes
You're so sweet, goodness knows
And you're so precious to me
Cute as can be, baby of mine”

I shall do this every, um, now and then, for you.

Goodness. I think I need something to eat.

May God bless you always and forever, my deeply cherished ones. Every word I sang came straight from the very depths of my heart. Someday I shall love you well.

Your devoted
Logospilgrim, the (usually) quiet professor
